Seed Type: Fresh Tropical Pink Guava seeds.

Origin: Central America.

Growth Habit: Fast-growing evergreen fruit tree reaching approximately 3–8 metres at maturity. Ideal for home gardens, orchards and large containers while young.

Germination: Soak seeds in warm water for 24 hours before sowing 5–10 mm deep in a free-draining seed-raising mix. Keep warm (22–30°C) and consistently moist. Germination typically occurs within 2–8 weeks.

Climate: To get a head start, or if you are in colder climates, start growing your seeds indoors so they are well established before summer. In the North Island, Tropical Pink Guava grows well outdoors in a warm, sunny, sheltered position and is well suited to most subtropical and warm temperate regions. In the South Island, it is best grown in a greenhouse, warm frost-free microclimate or large container that can be protected from heavy frosts while young.

Fruit: Produces round to oval fruit with smooth green to yellow skin and vibrant pink flesh. The flavour is exceptionally sweet, juicy and aromatic with classic tropical guava notes, making it perfect for eating fresh, juices, smoothies, jams and desserts.

Flowers: Produces beautiful white flowers with masses of fluffy stamens that attract bees and other beneficial pollinators.

Fruiting: Typically begins producing fruit within 2–5 years from seed under good growing conditions.

Care: Prefers full sun, fertile free-draining soil and regular watering while establishing. Feed during the growing season to encourage healthy growth and abundant fruit production.
