A spectacular tropical flowering tree admired for its brilliant scarlet-red blooms, impressive upright growth and striking appearance. At approximately 6 months old, these healthy plants are well established and ready to be planted into their permanent position where they can develop into magnificent specimen trees.

Plant Age: Approximately 6 months old, grown from seed.

Origin: Tropical and subtropical Asia, including India, China and Southeast Asia.

Growth Habit: Fast-growing deciduous tree reaching 20–40 metres at maturity with a broad spreading canopy. A stunning feature tree for large gardens, parks and lifestyle properties.

Flowers: Produces spectacular large scarlet-red flowers during late winter to early spring before the leaves emerge, creating a breathtaking display that attracts birds, bees and other pollinators.

Climate: Red Silk Cotton grows well in the warmest parts of the North Island. In the South Island it is best suited to greenhouse or container growing where it can be protected from frost.
