Araçá Serrano is a compact evergreen tree that produces aromatic yellow fruit with a sweet, tropical flavour and exceptional ornamental appeal. These fresh seeds are ideal for growers wanting to raise this unique and rewarding fruit tree from seed.
Seed Type: Fresh Araçá Serrano seeds.
Origin: Southern Brazil.
Growth Habit: Compact evergreen tree reaching approximately 2–5 metres at maturity. Ideal for home gardens, food forests, orchards and large containers when young.
Climate: Thrives in warm temperate, subtropical and tropical climates. Prefers full sun to partial shade and grows best in fertile, well-drained soil. Young plants should be protected from heavy frosts.
Germination: Sow fresh seeds 5–10 mm deep in a free-draining seed-raising mix. Keep warm (20–28°C) and consistently moist but not waterlogged. Germination typically occurs within 2–8 weeks.
Fruit: Produces small to medium-sized golden-yellow fruit with juicy, aromatic flesh. The flavour is sweet with pleasant tropical notes, making it excellent for eating fresh, jams, juices and desserts.
Flowers: Produces attractive white flowers that are highly fragrant and attract bees and other beneficial pollinators.
Fruiting: Typically begins producing fruit within 3–5 years from seed under good growing conditions.
Care: Prefers full sun, fertile free-draining soil and regular watering while establishing. Mulching and occasional feeding during the growing season will encourage healthy growth and fruit production.
