Honey White Pomelo Seeds

Grow one of the sweetest and largest citrus fruits from seed. Honey White Pomelo is a vigorous evergreen tree that produces enormous fruit with sweet, juicy pale-yellow flesh and very little bitterness. These fresh seeds are ideal for growers wanting to raise this delicious and rewarding fruit tree from seed.

Seed Type: Fresh Honey White Pomelo seeds.

Origin: Southeast Asia.

Growth Habit: Evergreen fruit tree reaching 5–10 metres at maturity. Suitable for home gardens, orchards and large containers when young.

Climate: Thrives in warm temperate, subtropical and tropical climates. Prefers full sun and protection from heavy frosts while young. Well suited to many parts of New Zealand with a warm, sheltered position.

Germination: Sow fresh seeds 10–15 mm deep in a free-draining seed-raising mix. Keep warm (20–30°C) and consistently moist but not waterlogged. Fresh seeds usually germinate within 2–6 weeks.

Fruit: Produces very large fruit with a thick rind and exceptionally sweet, juicy pale-yellow to white flesh. The flavour is mild, refreshing and honey-like with very little bitterness, making it excellent for eating fresh.

Flowers: Produces highly fragrant white blossoms during spring that attract bees and other beneficial pollinators.

Fruiting: Typically begins producing fruit within 5–8 years from seed under good growing conditions.

Care: Prefers full sun, fertile free-draining soil and regular watering while establishing. Feed with a citrus fertiliser during the growing season to encourage healthy growth and fruit production.

Health Benefits

The fruit is naturally rich in:

  • Vitamin C to support the immune system.
  • Dietary Fibre for healthy digestion.
  • Potassium which supports heart and muscle function.
  • Antioxidants that help protect cells from oxidative stress.
  • Hydrating, low-fat flesh that's delicious eaten fresh, juiced or added to fruit salads and desserts.

Please note: The price is for one seed. Many of the species we offer are extremely rare in New Zealand and can be difficult to source. We spend considerable time locating high-quality seeds from trusted growers both within New Zealand and around the world, allowing us to offer unique and hard-to-find species to fellow collectors and gardeners.
